Coalition to Restore the Eastern Wolf (CREW)

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have wolves in the northeastern United States? Why should this majestic, native species—one that’s a key part of America’s wildlife heritage—be allowed to return to its former home? What’s being done to make this vision a reality? This website provides information to help answer such questions.

The Coalition to Restore the Eastern Wolf (CREW) is a partnership of local, regional, and national organizations working together to recover healthy wolf populations in the northeastern United States. We educate the public and policymakers about wolves and the ways that their return would benefit the region. We also promote and support policies to foster wolf recovery and protection throughout the United States and Canada. Through collaboration, member organizations share information and ideas, develop strategies, and strengthen their own work in support of wildlife and land conservation.

CREW believes that the return of the wolf to the Northeast is an essential part of regional conservation efforts and will help improve the health of wild places. After centuries of being deliberately eliminated, the wolf deserves a chance to return to the land where it once roamed free.
